Next-Gen Console Size Comparisons

Just how do all the next-gen consoles size up? Check out the above image for a semi-accurate comparison.

i think gamers dont care how big the demensions are on a system.

Wow.. the Wii is tiny!! Not to mention the PS2(two).. I had never seen one next to an original. I still say they suck though since you can't use a harddrive with them.

Really? I'd say most gamers aren't interested at all with the size of a gaming system. The price, available games, extra features and noise (Xbox 360 nearly takes off, even with that new drive) are far more important.

Brent, you couldn't be more wrong. Look at the gamecube, you can attach a screen and play your games anywhere. Same with psx and redesigned PS2. Many People install small game systems inside car dashboards, and with the slot loading disign on the Wii, it would be a great addition to any car with an LCD. I have a pair of big pocketed jeans and I could fit 3 DVD Cases stacked up on top of each other in my pocket [That's what Iwata said was about the size of the Wii, in E3 2005]. I bet you can't fit a PS3 in your pocket, unless you're a 'Fat Lardo' .

We are? I mean yeah I don't want the thing to be as big as my tv or anything, but if I can carry it I think I'll be ok.

Honestly it could be the size of a desktop and I don't care. But sure is cool having a small console. The only things I would want as small as possible are mp3 players and camcorders.

The first Xbox is a freaking giant! I still like the design of the first one thoug... The xbox 360 looks like it was designed to be viewed only from the front, leaving the sides not atractive at all... And Ive got to admit that the Wii is a beauty... Gotta have one!

Ali, you couldn't be more wrong. -For the most part, true gamers play in a living room/study. I never heard of anyone playing Halo 2 or BF: MC or anything for that matter online or offline in a car. Not to mention, its hard enough to keep your mind on the road, let alone your ammo count or where an enemy is hiding. -And i never have seen anyone not buy a system just because its too big. Systems can be placed on top of TV's, along with cable boxes, sound systems etc. If a system can give you almost surreal graphics, I am not sure anyone will care if its the size of a computer tower, so long as it preforms. -Games are ment to be enojoyed for the playablity, graphics, and overall just to have alot of fun. "Hey Ali, are you getting the 'INSERT-GAMING-SYSTEM-HERE'?" "Nah, it won't fit into my shirt pocket...its deff not worth it." ^Oh yeah...now that I look at it that makes TOTAL sense.

good call, and related to systems in cars; I always see them set up in a trunk, or something like that. Where they are visible, because what's the point of putting a system in your car if no one can see it when you show it off? And the trunks on those tuners cars are big enough to support the sound system they're already likely to have, lights, and still drop a couple of the original Xbox or PS3's in.

Dude come on, its a damn system thats about not even two feet. WHO THE HELL cares about demensions? I totally disagree with Ali ( Althpugh Id have to admit, it'd be nice to have a Wii in a car). Personally I like the Wii best, but that has nothing to do with its size. Personally I think if a system has cool features and great games, its fine.
