Nintendo officially announced that it will be releasing the 3DS in Japan on February 26, 2011, priced at $298. That’s not all, owners will be able to take their “picture using the 3DS’ front-facing camera and then automatically convert the image into a Mii.” Videos after the break.

Ninty also announced a special edition Super Mario DSi LL (no hardware changes) set to launch for Y18,000 in Japan on October 28th. It also confirmed that a Wii Remote Plus is in development and will be announced at a date some time in the future.
