T3 reports that Nintendo might be releasing a Wii Phone -- through this patent -- accessory that would work in conjunction with the Wiimote.

That will be pretty awesome....using the phone over the wifi from nintendo....think about there's many more surprises under their sleeves, Nintendo isn't finish yet...by no means!

sounds good, but i doubt nintendo would make a wii phone, they'd probably just use the DS, it already has a microphone and speakers, and any keypad arrangement on the touchscreen. Just use the download play feature to get the software and connect to the wii

Those patents are for a generic cell phone that plays games. Not a cell phone that you play games with.

nonono this is just an old patent they had filed way back when, they have no outlooks on dev.

Highly unlikely but it would be useful if when playing a game and recieving a call the phone pauses the game and lets you answer. It'd save me shouting at the mrs to answer the phone :)
