A powerful new strain of the norovirus has been spreading across the US, and it’s been causing quite a stir online. Norovirus is very contagious and most often spreads in places where people frequent, such as schools, cruise ships and nursing homes, especially during the winter. Last month, 220 people on the Queen Mary II were stricken during a Caribbean cruise. Sometimes it’s mistaken for the stomach flu, the virus causes bouts of vomiting and diarrhea for a few days.
