Spitbank Fort is basically a sea fort built as a result of the 1859 Royal Commission. It’s one of four located in the Solent, near Portsmouth, England. Work on constructing the fort started in 1861 but was soon halted for a review into the best way to defend the Solent and approaches to Portsmouth Harbour. Spitbank Fort is now the most exclusive venue on the south coast, and is essentially its own private island for hire. It has accommodations for up to 18 and can also function as party space for up to 60-people. In the lower level, you’ll find a wine tasting cellar, gym, game room, and a TV room. On the second floor, there’s 8 luxury double bedrooms, all luxuriously equipped to a 5-star level, each with air conditioning, en-suites, fine furniture, large TV’s and stunning sea views.
