PICTURES: Is This the PS3 Slim?

According to T3, Sony might be releasing a new thinner, lighter PlayStation 3 in Q3/Q4 of this year. Other specifications have not yet been announced. Click here for first picture in gallery.

Specs-wise, we're probably looking at the same machine with stacks of space and the trusty Blu-Ray player on board. The new PS3 is a proper looker: if it's anything like the illustration our team of designers have come up with, then we're looking at one hell of a sexy piece of kit.

Hmmm... While kinda nice, I kinda doubt it. The biggest problem I see is that the only way to lay it flat is (obviously) on the flat part, but that looks like it would direct the heat vents (those visible pinholes, I'm assuming) downward, with minimal clearance, too. That doesn't make any sense unless there were heat vents on the sides (not really visible) and along the curved surface (clearly visible), which there aren't.
