PlayStation 3 Broken Straight Out of Box

That's right, PunchJump's PlayStation 3 had a faulty disc drive straight from the box. Video of the issue after the jump.
After attempting every troubleshooting trick Sony said they would replace the defective unit, no word yet from Punch Jump how long they were quoted it taking to receive a new unit. With any luck the guys over at Punch Jump will get their replacement before the New Year

this is why (besides cost and hacks) you should always wait to get a console instead of jumping in with both feet when they come out- more stable prod. runs later

You IDIOTS! Come on this is ONE PS3 out of MILLIONS that someone probably dropped and messed up. Least you forget the problems xbox360 had right out of the gate with over heating and thousands if not millions were recalled. COME ON. You guys do ANYTHING to find an excuse to hate.

Version 1.0 , what did you expect 0% failure ratio? consumers in this walmart world have spoken - they want the stuff for less money, and quality isn't an object.

I'm not a huge Sony fan, but my Wii Turned up exactly the same. Completely D.O.A. The problem with mine is that I live in the UK and I imported it from the USA. I have just wasted £300. Don't just be a fan boy and bash something for the sake of it. All consoles can be faulty.....I'm on my 3rd 360 as well.

It's not just Sony, single CD drives can't play two discs at once, toaster loader or tray.

I just got one that doesn't read anything, and yes I'm very pissed. Waited, paid xtra on ebay. I think i'm gonna return this and just get a xbox360
