The Raytheon Phaser isn’t some sci-fi fantasy, but rather a real weapon that can disable drones or anything electronic in seconds. Simply put, it’s essentially a high-powered microwave radiation transmitter set installed on top of a 20-foot shipping container. Operators would first locate the drone with an MPQ-64 Sentinel or Close Combat Tactical Radar, track the target, and then transmit that date to the Phaser. This diesel generator-powered weapon will then direct a brief jolt of microwave energy in the direction of incoming drones, destroying its control systems, stopping their motors and causing them to fall out of the air.
