Param Sharma, best known as Instagram user @ItsLavishBitch, has spent the last 24 days in jail for selling an iPhone for his friend who apparently does not have internet, on Craiglist. The 18-year-old was found guilty of a misdemeanor charge because he didn’t make a reasonable effort to find the original owner. His lawyer Andrew Shalaby, the person who bought the phone off Craigslist brought it to the police when they tried to activate the device and a pop-up notification indicated that it had been stolen, thanks to the FindMyiPhone service. Param Sharma was later taken by police from a restaurant and his bail was set at $30,000.
