Not only is the Lotus Exige 265E the most powerful road version of the Exige ever, it runs on Bio Fuel. The 265E sports a supercharged, 1.8L inline-4 (2ZZ VVTL-i) that produces 264hp @ 8000rpm and 184 lb-ft torque @ 5500rpm -- rocketing it from 0-60 in just 3.88-seconds. Fifth Gear's Tiff Needell takes this car out for a road test. Video after the jump.
He's right. The government is obsess with oil and carbon dioxide. There's a car which is faster thant the F430 and cleaner. Just that it doesn't have a nice fuel economy. Which is fine :).

the problem whit this fuel is that if every one started to use this that you would need an insane amount of land and than whit the land there is a other problem you can not let the crop grow on the same piece of land every year so that means that if you have 600square acres
that you can only use 200Square acres each year. other wise you'll just kill the soul
than there is a other problem to make this fuel you need More machine that use Fuel like Farming machines.
the resent report i have just read from a friend of my of who works for one of the 5major fuel company's say that it will cost even more full to produce in transport and harvesting and production as the fuel you'll get out of it... so...
o yeh and this fuell also has more engine wear cause this fuel has a less lubrucant effect on the Cylinder it would work fine in wankel engien since that has less friction on its parts. and o yeh it burns hotter so you might need better cooling and a Tigher oil in your engine so not all engines are good.

Now all we need is the government to back it up. Which will probably never happen, unless there is a financial gain from it. Which it all leads back to us the VOTERS!!!

"less lubrucant effect on the Cylinder" all the fuel does in the engine is ignite. The only thing that a lubricant is your motor oil.

Jasper: Your friend is biased as he works for an oil company.
There is another form of bio ethanol that we are learning to make which comes from food waste. It is not limited by the same problems as grown ethanol.

CT, propane and (I now guess) ethanol are considered dry fuels as they do little to nothing to lubricate the upper walls of the cylinder during operation. Gasoline lubricates more than those two items, and diesel lubricates more yet.
Jasper, welcome the agricultural methods of the past thousand years. I don't know where you live, but there is a tremendous amount of land being farmed currently, and there were even greater amounts farmed in the recent past. Greater efficiencies in production have driven many smaller farmers out of business as they cannot compete with the great industrial farms of the Midwest.
Finally, regarding the energy required to actually use these products...nothing starts out of the gates optimized. It would probably take decades of research and effort to create a production and distribution system as highly optimized as the one we currently have for gasoline. Yes, if you tried to run the world on biodiesel or bioethanol rihgt now, you'd have a hard time of it. But you'll have a harder time if you completely ignore the problem and simply wish that some high tech miracle is bound to happened eventually to save our asses. Each and every alternative source of energy should be explored an utilized as best we can, to help conserve the fossil fuels we do have left while we search in the interim for a new primary source.

Jasper - How much, exactly, is "an insane amount of land"? And I think what you are talking about is crop rotation. It is a standard method of agricultural production that varies depending on the crop. So not sure where you got the 1/3 basis for your argument. Is this based on sugar cane production, rice, wheat, barley, etc?
Sish is right. There is an inherant bias to an oil company producing a report telling us that an alternative to fosil fuels is not a good idea. Did they take into account a comparison of the existing cost to extract the crude in one location, transport it in very big ships to another location and refine it half way around the world as opposed to harvesting, refining and distributing biofuels in the same country? Did they also include a comparison of the costs of distribution? etc.
Now, sorry CT, fuel does act as a lubricant in the combustion chamber and related parts, but E85 fuel includes a sufficient amount of gasoline to permit adequate lubrication. Engines have actually been successfully run on an alcohol/water solution and the water has adequately lubricated the appropriate parts.
As an aside, turbo charging an engine does reduces engine life, but that hasn't stopped it's popularity.
Finally, are you familiar with the principle of latent heat of vaporisation? It is this which actually makes an alcohol fueled engine run cooler than the same one fueled by gasoline.
Another plus for Bioethanol - i.e. cooler running, longer life.
