Samsung UMPC to Cost $1,390

Weighing a very manageable 1.7-pounds and measuring 22.8 x 14 x 2.7cm, the Samsung Q1 is a UMPC (Ultra Mobile PC) that's scheduled to launch on June 1st. Ideal for road warriors, the Q1 boasts a brilliant 7-inch touchscreen display, 900MHz Celeron M ULV processor, 512MB of 400MHz DDR2 memory, 40GB hard drive, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 2.0. Pricing has been confirmed at $1,390 (£800). [via RegHardware]

didn't they say this thing was going to be around $400 to $700 when they were firt revealed as the Origami Project by Microsoft? Looks like we as the consumer have been blatantly lied to once again.

1300 is the hype price.. no need to wait for few years for the price drop. give it a year or so and you will see the prices below $1000 avg.

they claimed it was gonna be in the range of 500-700 dollars.. now it doubled in price... nobody is gonna buy this now.. they might as well just buy a laptop with a bigger screen and more memory and you dont gotta squint to read words on it.. UMPC = Dead on arrival.

well, these prices is really directed to buyers in Europe. this is a USA product, and prices WILL BE, and I repeat, WILL BE around $500-700.00 USD. So it's not so bad.. microsoft employee.
