Samsung has unveiled a 17-inch AMOLED display that measures just 12mm-thick, yet packs plenty of features. Boasting 1600 x 1200 resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 0.01ms response time, and 400nits brightness. No word yet on pricing and availability.
The active matrix / organic light emitting diode hybrid AMOLED technology has been a Samsung favorite, providing bright, colorful displays in quite thin form factors, since there's no need for a backlight

Sounds too good to be true ;D How is 1600x1200 going to look on a 17 inch monitor though? on a 19" CRT here it's readable, but a 17" panel? losing an inch or two might make users have to bump up fontsizes, and on XP that makes the shell look a bit pants really :(

love it! definately gonna get it

Hmm, well i have a 19" widescreen LCD, so it would almost be a downgrade ("0.01ms response time," compared to my 8ms ) i'd definately buy a pair if they made 19-21"

lol aldo...ms is the time in miliseconds it takes to change pixel colors on a screen. what I'm really trying to say is that lower is better!

more vapourware? most of these cool technologies never make it to the market (that or it's taking them forever to become available...)
