Second Microsoft Laptop Hunter Commercial Bashes Macs Again

In Microsoft's latest commercial, they set out to purchase the best laptop they can for $1500, and that doesn't include Macs, which are apparently more "about asthetics". Continue reading to watch.

It's true, John simply cannot buy a new MacBook with, say, 4GB of memory for under $1,500. But as any Apple fan knows, with Apple, your premium pays for the software.

I felt like this commercial was just pointing out what everyone already knew about PC vs MAC... It is really just about personal preference. They should each make better products rather than try to out market each other.

Oke i just went to the HP site and changed every spec as close to a 17" macbook pro. and what do you find you dont get DDR3 ram and you dont get a 2.6Ghz CPU and price wise your as close to a Macbook pro 17" and if you do the same whit a 15" HP notebook you will end up the same. also strange thing is that all notebooks that they show are HP notebooks No Sony, Samsung, Acer, Lenovo or Dell. how come... and why is a software company so pushing on hardware if they dont make any notebooks or PC they are a software company...

These M$ commercials always leave out the user experience after a week or so of using the OS. The Mac buyer may pay more for the machine, but frustration and hours saved not having to deal with all the problems that Windows brings to the equation are well worth the bump in price. M$'s advertising technique is similar to American car companies claiming they have improved quality. They've improved first-impression, test-drive quality. Check the consumer reports repair records and you'll see what the quality is really like after a couple years. In a Windows PC it takes just a couple weeks for the problems to start showing up. That machine that looks fast in the store will bog down considerably after you've added the antivirus, anti-spyware, registry cleaners, and daily automatic reboots to keep up with all the security band-aids that are a necessary to keep your pin codes and credit card numbers "safe" for another day or so. You'll be reinstalling the OS every 6 months or so just to keep the machine running. Oh yeah, I'm a PC because I'm a dope.

I'm more annoyed that he went to the Fountain Valley Fry's and found someone to help him look for anything. That also may had something to do with the selection. And really, When it comes to utility, I recently purchased a seven year old Dell Latitude C840. Popped in a wireless "G" card, a new 160GB drive, and replaced the internal CD/DVD drive with a DVD-RW. I probably could have looked around for a newer machine, but they've all got those new "iDiotBrite" mirror finish screens. It's really hard to work on editing video or images in CS3 when you've got a nice view of the lights in the ceiling.
