Sony Manager: Wii More Fun Than PS3?

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Nic Foster, general manager of Sony Australia and New Zealand, stated in a recent interview that the Wii is "more fun" when compared to the PlayStation 3. What are your thoughts? Here's what Nic had to say:
Wii is a core gaming device. It's a more fun, intuitive sort of product to pick up, where the PS3 is a broader entertainment solution; so you can have your fun, enjoyable gaming ... but then you have a whole suite of other applications ... such as Blu-ray media playback, the ability to access your music, access your photos and the interoperability with the PlayStation Portable

Forgive me for saying. But the playstation is a gaming console, who wants to use a PS3 for photo viewing, i have a PC/MAC/360/PSP to do that.

he's saying is a fun console, period, that's it. However PS3 is fun plus has media capabilities, ok I'll you that. That's not too bad. PS3 will have it's time, despite the sensitivity the net is giving it. Wii however i hope will stay fun although many devs think it'll get tiresome soon.

im sure he is a old guy who likes the Wii better because he is to retarded to run the PS3. ive played them both and the PS3 is much better in graphics AND GAMES!

every time i read comments such as 'ps3 will win!' 'wii will be the best!' etc it just makes me laugh and feel sorry for the pathetic fanboys who write that kind of stuff. NOBODY knows who will 'win' (like there was a real battle going on in the first place), only time will show. For the time being you can only state the facts - ps3 and 360 chose the old way of dealing with things. They basically upgraded their hardware and added wireless gamepads. Nintendo went the other way around and decided not to go over the top with graphics and introduced a new way of controlling games. Unfortunately some teen-fanboys who never got to play games back when they were about the gameplay still think that Wii will 'lose' because it's got poor graphics as opposed to other systems. Hell, i'd even doubt if these people are gamers since they know jack sh#$ about games, but suit yourself - you can call me a nintendo fanboy if you like. I own/owned almost every console out there and don't care which console is the best, it's the games that matter and the gameplay, not the graphics.

Well blake says some important things but he really isn't much better than the fanboys, writing nearly an essay on this forum hoping to get what?...your frustrations out? and I think you last broadsweeping statement [Its the] the gameplay [that matters], not the graphics." is just evidence of how easily it would be to just say "blake carries no credit at all"

If I just built a new gaming computer why would I even need a ps3? The computer would beat it by a longshot. The Wii introduces a whole new gameplay that can't be sufficed by a computer. Thats why Wii has my money.

He didn't say "Wii is MORE fun" he said that Wii is a device that is focused on "fun" where as the PS3 includes "fun" as well as other applications into its makeup.

has the whole world forgotten that the number 1 main element that decides how successful any video game is is fun. saying wii is more fun than ps3 is essential admitting defeat.

Nintendo Wii's gameplay is more fun but the games on Ps3 are better. Most of Nintendo wii's great games are repeats from over 10 years ago(Mario -is good though). If you get what i mean i'd prefer to play to play ninja gaiden stigma on the ps3 then Pokemon on the Nintendo Wii.
