NewTechSpy reports that Sony will be releasing an updated PSP model called the “PSi”, which is smaller (4.5-inches wide) and sports a 3-inch LCD touch screen display. The “PSi” also supports Wi-Fi, WiBro, UMTS, EVDO, and future WiMax networks. A “virtual keyboard” (on touch screen display) will make web surfing much easier. Sony has not yet confirmed the “PSi”.

From the article: “New Tech Spy has learned through well placed sources that Sony is apparently hedging its bets against the possible death of UMD and positioning itself against Nintendo’s DS lite, which sold an impressive 380,000 in Japan in March.”
