Sony's reputation for stylish notebooks stands up with the ultraportable 12.1-inch VAIO G. Powered by an Intel Core Solo U1300 (1.06GHz) or U1400 (1.2GHz) processor, up to 1.5GB of DDR2 memory, 80GB HDD, and a DVD burner, this notebook is a nice performer. The 12.1-inch 1024 x 768 display is just the right size to balance ease of use with portability. External interfaces include two USB 2.0-ports, 802.11a/b/g Wi-Fi, and a biotmetric fingerprint reader. This model goes on sale in Japan next month, with prices starting at $1836USD. [via engadget]
