Measuring in at just 245 x 20 x 120mm and weighing a mere 1.39-pounds, the Sony VAIO P ultraportable laptop could have easily fit into nearly any standard bag or even purse. There were a few drawbacks though, namely the poor battery life at just over 3-hours on a full charge and a tiny screen that just doesn’t work nicely with a Windows operating system.
Its 8-inch (1,600 x 768) screen really caused one to strain to see what’s going on, and that is why Sony integrated a resolution-switching button into the chassis, close to the spacebar. Although downgrading the native resolution to 1280 x 600 makes things bigger and easier to see on the screen, it everything appears much blurrier. The later models boasted a an Intel Z540 processor clocked at 1.86GHz, up to 2GB of DDR2 RAM, 80GB HDD, and a 2,500mAh battery.
