Spanish fashion designer Manel Torres has partnered with researchers at Imperial College London to develop the world’s first spray-on clothing that can be worn, washed and worn again. The spray consists of short fibers that are combined into a solvent, enabling it to be sprayed from a can or high-pressure spray gun. The fibers are mixed with polymers that bind them together to form a fabric – various textures can be formed by using wool, linen or acrylic fibers One caveat: the fabric itself, which dries when it meets the skin, is very cold when it is sprayed on.
