Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is a next-generation title from LucasArts " set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope." Tech demonstrations after the jump.
As its name implies, The Force Unleashed completely re-imagines the scope and scale of the Force by taking full advantage of newly developed technologies only possible on next-gen consoles that will be seen and experienced for the first time anywhere in videogaming

Impressive

The molecular system is flawed for materials like wood. I hope they fix this before release.

Most impressive.

It looks rather nice, i like the stormtrooper bio-ai. But i expect a technologie driven game, where the whole stry is just there to show of the fancy new tricks they can do, but a lack of 'fun' in gameplay. But we'll see.
5
impressive indeed. i want some e-wood :D
6
I love the wood demo, amazing.

Awesome effects. Inspired development. But one question: Since you're appling this incredible tech to breakables such as wood, what are you going to use for in-game? I don't remember a lot of wood being used in the Star Wars saga.

Well those things would work nice in a game like HL2, For Star Wars they should make how you can chop down things with your light saber. Like turn a metal pilon in to melting hot pile of metal goo or something like that. But instead of focusing on how to kill ppl the most realistic way perhaps devote their time to something more interesting. Say NPC to NPC interaction. Player to NPC etc. I bet you get my point

I am personally looking fwd to this Will: you should look at the other demo that was posted recently- it shows how metal, glass and other materials look as well as a little demo of felucia - it is not just wood- it looks awesome Macaca: I have more faith in lucas than that myself- any game that they make tends to use the technology for the game rather than vice versa- example- republic commando (with the night vision) , jedi knight II (with the force powers) - most of the games that have lacked story and gameplay from lucas were actually developed by outside vendors like in BFI/II that were done by pandemic, but it looks like they are doing a lot more internally nowadays after a falling out with pandemic over a number of issues that basically screwed them in a big way
