Submerged Floating Bridge Norway

Norway has its own share of bridges, but they plan on spending $25-billion to build the world’s first “submerged floating bridge” that shortens travel times between Kristiansand and Trondheim from 21-hours down to less than 11-hours. It will consist of two 4,000-foot long concrete tubes – braced to each other with trusses and bedrock – one for each direction. Since they’re underwater, inclement weather above the surface will not affect them, and depth is controlled by a series of pontoons floated on the surface of the fjord.
