The $24,000 Gaming PC

Voodoo's "Elementals OMEN" is the world's most expensive gaming PC. Boasting a gold case with Allure finish, an AMD Athlon 64 FX-60 Dual Core processor, 4GB of Corsair 3500LL memory, "Supercharged Intercooler", four 500GB HGST SATA hard drives, dual ATi Radeon X1900XTX 512MB SS GPUs in SLI-configuration, and a large 46-inch Samsung Syncmaster 8ms Gaming LCD monitor to top it off. It costs a whopping $23,943.54 here.

Wow, ATI x1900's in SLI? That's crazy, I only thought they were available in crossfire configurations. Don't let Nvidia see their tchnology jargon being mixed up with ATI's. That would be terrible. Waste of money. Anyone on the planet can build a better system for nearly 20k less. Pretty sad when people are so clueless they will pay outrageous prices for nothing and companies know this so they go ahead and do it. Then again, I would.

I totally agree whoandwhy. If this system is what you're looking for...save a couple thousand dollars and build it yourself.

I think I should point out that ATi cards don't use SLi, they use Crossfire. Just take a look at ATi's, site, http://www.ati.com/technology/crossfire/index.html

I just saw this thing mentioned in this months playboy, too. what they don't say here is that the base model is only $4,200. This one (above) actually has a real gold plating on it, which ups the price...a bit. And some other stuff thrown in that the base model doesn't have

Okay, I'm fairly sure that ATi cards can't use SLi connections, just like nVidia cannot use Crossfire. Just go to ATi.com and look under Crossfire, then go to nVidia.com and look at SLi, I think it's a safe assumption the two are not compatible with each other.

you cant run ati in sli.... its prolly crossfire but they wrote sli for some reason. and 4x500GBs is not that much (for the person hoo said thats a ridiculous amount of space).. i have 1 TB and im using all of it (mostly games!!) i can do with another TB!
