We've put together a short list of the ultimate home theater rooms that our editing team has come across in recent time. Which ones are your favorites? Continue reading for the list.

Batcave

Put simply, this "Batcave" home theater is one of the coolest setups we've come across, featuring 8 motorized black leather seats and a 102-inch LG plasma display.
The client in the case of the Batcave was a retired naturalist who had an interesting house that DCAVS vice president Nick Mark thought would lend itself well to a themed home theater

Death Star Theater Room

Originally conceptualized by Doug Chiang, Dillon Works managed to transform his ideas into the "Death Star Theater". This incredible creation features 10 seats, automatic doors, twinkling star fields, backlit vintage posters, a wet bar with popcorn maker, THX sound system, and authentic movie props. [Source]

Opera House

Yes, it's a real home theater that was custom built underground (basement). It comes complete with concession stand, marquee, and box office. Equipment includes three DVD players, a JVC QX-1 projector, and 25hz woofer drivers in Dunlavy SC-IVs. This may be an oldie but it's definitely worth taking another look at.
"The theater is 16' tall at the front (slab to concrete ceiling), and 11 1/2' tall at the back. About 21' wide and 29' long. This was an addition to the house - we basically dug this huge hole in our front lawn and partially into the driveway, while also gutting a study on the main floor. From the main floor, you have steps down to the basement where you see a sitting area where the marquee is and thenonto a concession area and theater. So the superstructure of the theater is a 12" to 18" complete concrete shell."

It's painfully obvious that it's a projection screen in the batcave. You read the article wrong.

The Batcave, unless recently upgraded, doesn't have a 102" Plasma screen. You can clearly see the projector nestled between seats (and Monsters, Inc. on the screen. Not exactly brand new).

the bacave is cool but it isclear that the "plasma" is a 102" projector screen and not a 102" plasma!

[...] TechEBlog has did a round up of ultimate home theatres. Some of these are great, while I really like the Death Star theatre I might grow tired of it. The Opera House is very nice looking and would be a great setup that I probably wouldn’t grow tired of for a long time. [...]

Cade G and TJK are wrong - it IS a plasma. the three "projector lights" are for show, or else they'd be projecting onto the half up curtain. look at the photos again, boys.

While the screen is super reflective the BLACK curtain is absorbent of light so a high light situation would not show the projection on the curtain.....also if it is a plasma why in the world would you "fool" people into thinking it was a screen by surrounding your "plasma" in a screen frame and putting a large unnecessary projector or "light Box" between the couch?
22
Sorry guys, you're wrong. It is not a plasma. It is obvious the screen is a Stewart Filmscreen Electriscreen. Look at the blue logo the bottom corner. The reason it doesnt show on the curtain isn't because the curtain is absorbing the light (it does to some extent but not completely as depicted) but is because the image is superimposed! And finally, the 3 gun CRT projector you see is a Sony G90. And if you guys dont believe me, I've dug up where you can find it: http://www.cepro.com/news/editorial/12947.html

Check out: http://www.cepro.com/news/editorial/12947.html In the batcave, it's not a 102" plasma.... It's a CRT projector (Sony G90), on a 110" Stewart Electriscreen.
