Ocean view homes are nice, but this cliffside church takes things to the next level. Designed by Open Platform for Architecture (OPA), the Holy Cross Chapel is embedded into the side of a cliff, and constructed with simple materials, like wood, glass, and concrete. All of these materials aim to match the surrounding landscape, seamlessly blending man-made and natural textures. Continue reading for more pictures and information.
“The remaining space is bare, pure and humble allowing for quiet and tranquil contemplation and prayer. The Holy table and the auditorium, which is comprised of concrete benches finished with warm wood, are complementary to the simplicity of materials and design,” said OPA.
