East Japan Railway Company’s new Shiki-shima train takes luxury train travel to the next level, and despite just launching in May, tickets are already sold out until March 2018. It all starts with the retro-futuristic train design, and carries forth into the interior, which includes traditional tatami-style suites as well as modern cabins. “More precisely, passengers can relax in a five-star lounge, take in Japan’s gorgeous natural surroundings in its observatory cars packed with panoramic windows and order fine cuisine prepared by a Michelin-starred chef onboard. The most expensive suite on the train will set you back approximately $8,645 USD per person,” reports Hype Beast.
