Real Sony Nintendo PlayStation Prototype

Gaming enthusiasts have probably seen sketches of the fabled console, but now here’s a look at a real prototype. In 1988, Sony and Nintendo collaborated on a CD-ROM peripheral for the SNES, but as you know, things never quite worked out. Purportedly, imgur user “DanDiebold” stumbled upon one of the prototypes, and here’s his story: “My dad worked for a company, apparently one of the guys he used to work with, I think his name was Olaf, used to work at Nintendo and when my dad’s company went bankrupt, my dad found it in a box of ‘junk’ he was supposed to throw out.” Click here to view the first image in today’s viral picture gallery.
