McDonalds Cheeseburger 20-Years

Friends Eduard Neetz and Casey Dean purchased a quarter pounder from a McDonald’s store in Adelaide, Australia when they were 13 and 14 years old respectively, in 1995. They were out buying food for a party, when they decided to pick up an extra burger for their friend Jono, who never showed up. “It started off as a joke, you know we told our friend we’d hold his burger for him but he never turned up and before we knew it 6-months had passed. The months became years and now, 20 years later, it looks the same as the day we bought it, perfectly preserved in its original wrapping,” says Casey. It’s been under lock and key for the past two decades, but they recently ‘freed’ it for an interview on their local Channel 10 news channel . “It’s rock hard, absolutely solid as a brick,” the two said. In 2013, the internet was talking about David Whipple, a man who bought a McDonald’s burger in 1999 and kept it to show his friends that it was full of preservatives and that it wouldn’t spoil.
