This isn’t a SMART car, just O-R3, a self-driving police car that offers 360° surveillance technology and can be programmed to patrol set areas. This vehicle is capable of using biometric scanners to look for suspects, identify suspicious objects, launch a mini drone and even chase suspects. O-R3 may not fully replace human officers, but it can perform low-level patrols and surveillance work in tourist areas. “Essentially, we aim for the streets to be safe and peaceful without a heavy police patrol,” said Dubai police chief Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri.
