The footage above is of the Goldstream River in Goldstream Park, Canada, after someone dumped a load of flourescein into it. Fortunately, this version of the dye was vegetable-based, making it safe for animal life. Here’s one fact you may not have known about, fluorescein was the first substance used in the Chicago River to dye the river green on St. Patrick’s Day in 1962.
