9. Biomech 500 Case Mod

Magnus Persson created this amazing PC case mod, which features an AMD Opteron 185 2.6GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of Corsair XMS Xper RAM, 4 x Western Digital 150GB Raptor-X gaming edition HDDs, a PNY GeForce 7900 GTX 512MB graphics module, and an external Plextor PX-716UFL DVD burner. Few more pics after the jump.

This project has absolutely no engravings whatsoever. The whole idea is inspired by H.R Giger’s Biomech art. I’m sure that you have seen Giger’s work, since he created the Alien monsters for the popular film series.

8. FIFA Case Mod

Here’s an interesting mod: a FIFA-inspired case “that has actual players playing on a pitch adorned with the EA logo”. More info here.

The modder made a sketch using actual CAD software to plan out how he wanted it to look like first before getting busy cutting aluminum sheets with lasers

7. “UAL737” Case Mod

One of the most creative case mods we’ve seen, “UAL737” was modeled after a Boeing 737 jet, complete with United Airlines graphics. On the inside, you’ll find an AMD FX55 processor, NVIDIA 7800GT graphics, 1GB RAM, 280GB Western Digital HDDs in RAID, and a slim-line DVD drive.

Took 6 months total to build to completion. Features a Jet7 CPU cooler mounted on the wing that looks like a jet engine – the only non-handmade part. Unfortunately was broken by FedEx Ground during shipment to LanWar

6. Hard Drive Case Mod

Have old hard drives laying around? Why not make a PC case out of them — aside from the heating issues. Here’s what the creator had to say:

While waiting for parts to arrive and new ideas to sprout up on my CLOWNED project, I’ve started another. I’m building a custom case made of Hard Drives. All of the HD’s are DEAD. Many are 2GB and below, 1 is the 120GB HD I had in Air Force One that died. My teachers were happy to unload the mounting piles of dead HD’s they had and I was happy to take ‘em. To start, see the 2 boxes worth of dead HD’s I’ve gotten.

3. Sweclockers Case Mod

Swedish-modder Micke Gustafsson shows off his latest creation, the “Sweclockers Case”. At first glance, this case looks to be something straight out of a horror movie, but it’s actually a fully functional computer. Here’s what the creator had to say:

My youngest son freezes when the machine is turned on – he insists that “Daddy, it is evil!” It’s a great babysitter, keeps the kids in line

2. Alloy Wheel Case Mod

PC modder Micke “GoTaLL” Gustafsson created this crazy “EPIA Alloy Mod”, complete with brake disc, red caliper, EPIA SP13000 LVDS motherboard/processor, 512MB of Crucial Ballistix memory, and a picoPSU.

It’s not all that different from modding cars, so he understood straight away. To cut a long story short, I left the store with a brand new 17 inch PLW alloy wheel. I knew instantly that it had enough “wow-factor” to become the theme for my EPIA mod.

1. “24”-inspired Case Mod

Peter from Bit-Tech decided to create a PC case based on the popular TV show “24” — resembling a weapon of mass destruction aka atomic bomb. Features include a large dot matrix LED display, water cooling, custom built double radiator, and a concealed DVD drive.

…the aim of this project was to build a completely custom-built computer case, out of stainless steel, that would look like the sort of atomic bomb that one sees in spy movies or on TV shows like 24. I tried not to base the design on any real or fictional bomb, but simply out of my imagination.
