Flying first class is a privilege left mostly for the wealthy, or frequent flyers who know how to rack up points. While the cost of a roundtrip ticket may be out of reach, there’s nothing wrong with previewing what money can let you experience. 5. Thai Airways First Class Suite

The sleeper seating is electronically controlled, with 180 degrees of recline and almost seven feet of space in which to stretch out. Royal First Class passengers are welcomed on board with a glass of Dom Perignon, Bollinger or an appropriate vintage Champagne. Artfully presented meals are served on fine porcelain, with the finest table linen and crystal glasses to enhance the enjoyment of connoisseur travelers.

4. Etihad Airways First Class Suite

Currently available on their A340-500s, A330-200s and selected A340-600s jets, the Diamond first class offers passengers ‘suites’ made up of a large 6 ft 8″ bed, a personal mini-bar and wardrobe. Passengers are also given a Ferragamo valise, slippers and sleeper suit and the services of their own ‘Food and Beverage Manager’. The food is five-star, served with fine wines and there is also a 23-inch screen and an in-built massage option for entertainment.

3. Cathay Pacific 777-300 First Class Suite

The seats in this cabin open into 81-inch flat beds. Asian and International cuisine, are on the menus and all dishes are made to order. A 17 inch widescreen TV is another amenity. For long-haul flights, it offers selected amenity kits for him – Acca Kappa products from Italy and Victorinox travel bags from Switzerland; and for her – Darphin products from France and Ipa-Nima travel bags from Vietnam. Passengers are also offered pajamas, made by Hong Kong-based international clothing chain Shanghai Tang.

2. Emirates Air A380 First Class Suite

Flying Emirates first class is like staying in a 5-star hotel. Each cabin seat is fitted with a complimentary minibar, vanity station with Clarins skincare products, a 19-inch flat screen monitor, small touch screen hand held controller, and leather sleeper seat. You can even close the doors to create your own private cabin on select flight planes. On the Emirates A380, you can even take a shower on board. Passengers can choose between two shower kits from Timeless Spa products. Their dedicated Shower assistants will prepare the Shower Spa prior to each appointment.

1. Singapore Airlines A380 First Class Suit

With the biggest seats in its class (they’re 35-inches wide), each seat is upholstered in fine grain leather with mahogany wood trimming. A bagful of skincare products, a sleeper suit and bedroom slippers designed by Givenchy are also part of the package. There is a vanity corner with mirror and drawer at every seat, as well as a 23-inch screen with Bose QuietComfort 2 acoustic noise cancelling headphones. Matthew Moran, who appeared on MasterChef Australia, is one of the airline’s chefs as is Khaana Khazaana’s Sanjeev Kapoor. You can also ‘Book a Cook’ from eight chefs, before you fly.
