Pyro Board

Sune Nielsen, a masters student in physics at Denmark’s Aarhus University, has become an internet star, thanks to his homemade “Pyro Board”, which uses fire to represent music visually. It’s essentially a sealed metal box that allows flammable gas to mix with sound waves. On top, gas flows out of 2,500 perforations to create 2,500 individual flames synchronized to the music being played below. At certain frequencies of sound, the device reveals standing waves, which appear as an unmoving pattern of flame resembling a sine wave. Continue reading for more.

5. Otters Playing Keyboard

Otters aren’t exactly known to be the most musically talented sea creatures out there, but they aren’t shy about it either. In their musical debut above, a cage of Asian small-clawed otters at Smithsonian’s National Zoo in Washington, D.C., attempt to play the keyboard. They were given the choice of playing on the keyboard or just sitting back and enjoying the show.

You get as close as you possibly can and start taking pictures, or at least that’s what these people decided to do. The filmmakers at MaxAnimal were floating somewhere off the coast of South Africa while filming for their YouTube channel when a great white started munching ferociously through the rubber edges of their inflatable boat.

This diaper-wearing 2-year-old skateboarder from Australia became an internet sensation after video emerged of him racing up and down streets, hopping over curbs and even flying down steps. Kahlei Stone-Kelly is being hailed as the world’s youngest skateboarder, and comes from a family of skateboard enthusiasts to boot. Believe it or not, he has been on a board since he was 6 months old, according to news reports.
