Unpacking the Pong Clock

One of our readers just sent in these pics of his newly arrived Pong Clock -- 1 of just 400. Just a quick refresher, the score shown on the left and right sides correspond to the time of day. A continuous random game of Pong is played by the clock every 24 hours. For those who haven't already seen, video demonstration and lots of pictures after the jump.
On Saturday, the 8th of July 2006, I received my Pong Clock, designed by Dutch Designers 'Buro Vormkrijgers'
(Thanks, Guido)

Indeed, the Pong Clock is smaller than the original design, I guess. Had the same feeling when i unpacked it, but it is still a very well designed and constructed clock.

I agree, i thought is would be at least twice as big. unless that monitor is a sumthing like a 26", then its normal :p

Looks great, but as others have mentioned it is quite small...

Why the hell does it have so many microcontollers !? I'll give you one for the logic, one for the screen, even 1 for power managment and buttons or whatever... but I see at least 5 It is kinda small. If that monitos is 26" that is the largest keyboard known to man.

thats stupid, loud, and annoying

I want one of these but the ball needs to be bigger. I dont mind the size of it if it was a desktop clock but it needs to be bigger because its on the wall.

Mine arrived today. Despite the fact that it really could be just a bit larger, it is wonderful. I some time wondered after pre-ordering that beautiful piece of art if it was really worth that twohundred bucks. But since I got it today and mounted it on my wall in the office (some hours ago) everyone who came in stood about 20 minutes in front of it and keeped asking me about it... Sad news for my employer, though... :-) I just hope that the screen will not burn in soon... So, number 61 is now hanging 'round somewhere in Duesseldorf/Germany. :-) BTW, I got almost the same workdesk (just the PSP, mobile and one of the iPods' missing...)
