USB Self Destruct Button Hands-On

Akihabara News gives us a hands-on look at this strange USB Self Destruct Button aka USB 2.0 hub. Video after the jump.
It has all the keys, switches, and buttons you've come to expect from modern self-destruct buttons, adding the power of four USB ports for extra practicality

What the hell is the big deal with this thing. I keep seeing it everywhere. I mean it's a cheap little novelty USB hub that really doesn't have that much novelty after you see that all it does it make some cheasy sound. I would atleast expect it to actually blow up when you push the slef destrucy button. Now that would be impressive!

I think they could at least write some software for it so when you hit the red button it formats your PC and or any USB keys attached to it, so when the FED'z raid your house looking for pirated material all you gotta do is hit the switch ... donno might sound dumb but just an idea ! Cheerz, Andrew

What it should do is kick off a secure wipe of your entire filesystem on your PC. That would be cool. ...Knock Knock...Open up we have a warrant from the recording industry... No problem. Hit the self destruct and go answer the door. :-)

You could put a little usb drive with boot & nuke or something like that on it, then wire it up so when you push the buttons, it reboots and 7-pas DoD wipes your hard drive. THAT would be sweet.

They should of at least treated it like a seperate input device, so that the buttons could be used to either run a macro or specific option.
