The vernal equinox for 2010, which marks the first day of spring, falls on Saturday, March 20th this year in the northern hemisphere. Scientifically, an equinox happens when the Earth's axis is inclined neither towards or away from the sun -- sun is vertically above a point on the Equator. Video after the break.
