For better results he should of used copper wire between the candle heads. :-D
No really, he should have used a foot pedal to make it more real, with both hands above the table.

Yeah, a foot switch would have made it seem much more real instead of reaching under the table every time things turned on and off.
The camera cut to the closeup of the magnet ruined any appearance that nothing else could be connected up.
It was a nice touch, at the end, that he tried to show the wires hanging off the table werent connected to anything other than the nails.
If he had picked up the candles while they were lit... but then he couldnt do that, could he. :)

That was stupid, do you really expect anybody to believe you can generate electricity with a couple of nails stuck in wax? Also WTF would lighting the candles have to do with anything. You can even see your hand under the table flipping the on switch.

what a gimp, he could have made if tool half real by filming at a different angle, you can clearly see his hand! More amazingly stupid videos from MetaCafe since they started producer awards!

You can see the first time he blows out a candle, which, in his "candle-power" machine causes the power to stop, the led (or whatever, the light bulb) is still on for about a second or two. Apparently the guy can't time anything. It was like:
Time= 2:41 Candle lit
Time= 2:42 Candle blown out
Time= 2:43 led goes off

Yes hello i am new to the country of the USAs. I love that government share such the secrets with everyone, such as this power up bulb trick. I love it, and its how I computer is being generated with power right now!

its bull,
everytime he lights the second candle, he switches hand and puts the other under the table by his crotch. even for the motor. And when he blows out the candle for the light bulb, his hand goes back under the table. total bull.
peace.

Stupid, wax is not a conductor so there is no way it would work. You might as well just use the nails, you get the same results LOL. I have more volts from one side of my head to the other then this setup would make! People should take some physics classes before believing this garbage.

Nice show, and still there will be lots of people that belive this in US of A...hehehe

yeah...this seems like such bulls**t that I can't stand it.
if the results are truely reproducable....well...go figure.
I am a midwest hick and I still don't believe it.
BS...but I will respond if I find out different.

Mysterious
Does this work only with white candles, or will any colour candle do?

Even though wax is not conductive, this may have something to do with seebeck effect, or as some sort of thermocouple (generation of electricity from potential heat difference in a metal) and this would explain why the candle on i.e. heat source would power it. Though i have no idea if this would create anywhere near the amount of power to run a light.

Actually if you pause it for a frame you can see the light is lit while one of the candles hadnt caught on fire yet.

People who try to purport bad science like this should be shot. It's hard enough teaching idiots the basic principles of physics without you fucking things up.
Thanks for stunting the progress of humankind, asshole.

I know how is made this , when you edit the video that you show how you magnetize the nail, in that moment , you change the position of the candels, in that moment, maybe you connect the cabes whit some white cables, to a battery , and the , when you light up , your left hand is under the table, turning on the interruptor ..
the same whit the motor ..
i think ..

If you believe this, I'll sell you the Center Street Bridge cheap and throw in the Struthers Bridge half price.
The implication here with the motor is DC current flow. That needs a difference in potential from one nail to the next. There is nothing different between the nails to cause a difference in potential forcing a current flow.

2 reasons why i think this is fake:
Look at the length of the nail sticking out on the right candle, then when the video cuts and comes back to the full shot the nail on the right is in a lot further (after he wired the nail)
The switching of the lighter. why would he need to switch hands to light something inches away....maybe to have one hand free to flip a switch?!?!?!

Ok, look here. I belive him.
Take note. THE WIRES on each side MUST cross on each side.

Then for sure we can from fire!
