VIDEO: Future of Home Computers - circa 1967

This is how movie producers envisioned what the home computer of the future would be like, in 1967. Video after the jump.

Clip from the 1967 film 1999 A.D. in which we see the family of the future shopping, paying bills and using electronic mail from home

This is one of the more appropriate forecasts in computertech I came along. Besides it is in just one computer and no communal service shows up, if Windows borked. Thanks God for that! You would have a tremendous coffee-bill elseway...

Damn, that's scary. While a 1999 PC may not have done all of this, 4 or 5 separate ones probably could. This is impressive, down to the worldwide communication (Internet), the online banking including a neo-Quicken, the multiple flat screens, and the online shopping. These guys even nailed the form factor! Simply spectacular.
