I really dont get why apple is distorting peoples views like this. They make PC's look like such a horrible thing. PC's are more functional and flexible, and allow you to do more... Mac's are... simplistic, and have no depth. Macs are more like a "sleek" thing people have to look cool or w/e. Ya, I know, people have certain pc's to look cool, too.

Eric, I think i am inlove with your views... :| yay. i hate these ad's they get the uglyest person possible to be the pc... WTF..

Apple just makes mac users look like pricks, so they are giving free advertising to PCs. Thanks, Apple! Oh, and the only reasons I don't own a mac are: 1. Too expensive 2. I'm used to my PC. Why change to something completely different just to seem unique? 3. Macs are only secure due to a hacker's lack of interest. I'm all for not providing money to microsoft. That is why I will never purchase an Xbox. However, most things are made for PCs and Windows, so why change? Give me a good reason to pay money.

lol they make it sound like microsoft is for businesses and mac is for FUN and FLEXIBLILTY ... but microsoft is just as flexible and fun with the games and tweaks and mods
6
How many games are there on a mac? I think that answers the question.

Macs good for: Graphic design, Marketing types,Desktop publishing, Video editing and not allowing the user to understand anything about using a computer! PC's good for: Gameing and everything else, including crashing. Now which one of those sounds like business and which sounds like fun?

It's really amusing propaganda, mostly because it's just so obviously wrong, misses the point and fails to sell Macs based on what they're actually good up instead of a load of made up stuff. Also, it's comparing Macs to Personal Computers, which is like comparing apples to fruit.

"Apple just makes mac users look like pricks" Apple fans love these commercials and the general petty juvenile style of Apple marketing. Apple has located and is feeding it's customer base. Something like what Jerry Springer does. Apple insults and whines until it eventually has to adopt what the rest of the industry is already doing then pretends it did it first. The truth is Mac users get everything last, from laptops to Mini form factor computers to Intel processors to the OS they're so proud of. Apple acts like a crowd should be at the finish line to cheer them when the race ended a week ago.

It would be so easy for the PC industry to stomp Apple's ads. Pretty much every industry standard professional software runs on PCs, yes including the industry standard for professional video editing, which is Adobe Premiere BTW and not final cut. And Adobe sells more than 5X as many Windows licenses for AP than Mac. Add to that infinite customization of PC configurations and options. Add to that the fact that almost everything shows up on PCs first. Ask yourself why Apple created bootcamp except in recognition that everything runs on Windows Why no bootcamp for PCs to run OSX? Because it already runs on PCs, it ran on PCs before it ran on Macs! Including every other flavor of Linux and Unix. Think your Mac "looks better'. Maybe if you like Apple's repetitive boring 1950s retro shiny white plastic look. If the PC industry wanted Apple's 2% marketshare all it would have to do is wait until it's failing again and just convince MS to not save it this time. Oh you people might not recall that when the Mac first came out the only thing that saved it was MS writing the only useful software for it.

Ellison has it on the dot. Although, steve jobs IS one of the people these ads appeal to. I've met him before at a local mac thing here in california. this was way before the whole ipod/sleek mac trends. Hes a complete prick that views himself as god's gift to the world and everything he does as miracles. I do give him respect for what hes accomplished, but theres never a reason for such a narcissistic attitude. in reality...everything hes done was done better by someone else. from the personal computer (which for some reason he thinks macs aren't), to the ipod mp3(although they were the first huge data storage providers). The ipod is their only OK product in terms of value, and even then majority of people only buy it to be "popular" or "trendy" just like everyone else who buys macs for non work related issues.

the one point that you all have is that gaming on a Mac sucks. i'll agree with that. otherwise you're all way off base. 9/10 users don't want to know how the computer works, nor do they want to understand the inner workings of their machine. they want a computer that they can use to surf the internet, look at their pictures, maybe put a little movie/slideshow together, but most of all they want computer that WORKS. no spyware, viruses, worms, trojans, drive defragmentations, software re-installs, firmware updates, driver updates, minimum requirements, graphics/sound cards updates - all a huge pain in the ass to the vast majority of users, and all things that you simply do not have to concern yourself with on a Mac. the point is that i bought a high-end (at the time) PC and a G4 Mac within a year of each other. one is still running like the day i took it out of the box and one is sitting absolutely unusable under my desk collecting dust. guess which one is the Mac.
