Created by Robocross.de, this robot is capable of hitting baseballs thrown from the pitchers mound -- though not very far, it's still an impressive piece of machinery none the less. Video demonstration after the jump.

Baseball hitting Robot
The Baseball hitting Robot is a creation of Robocross.de and is capable of hitting baseballs thrown from the pitchers mound - though the shots wont cross the stadium it is still an impressive peice of machinery. (Video after the jump)...

i think its fake, not only there arent any sensors in the robot itself but also the ball throwing machine is very consistant so it might just be a matter of timing not exacly scouting the ball and hiting it

Well if the radar sensors, needed for tracking the flight curve of the ball, would be integrated in the robot's torso itself it would be to big and too heavy for such an application I guess. So they shurely arranged a grid of 3 sensors at specific places in the stadium in order to calculate when and how the robot has to move itself. If you know anything about robots and technical computer scients, you know that this is a very impressive piece of engineering.
