(Video) Nanotechnology - Cure for Human Ageing?

According to BBC, Aubrey de Grey claims that "we will inevitably be able to address ageing just as effectively as we address many diseases today." Video interview after the jump. What are your thoughts?
And each method to do this is either already working in a preliminary form (in clinical trials) or is based on technologies that already exist and just need to be combined. I think the first person to live to 1,000 might be 60 already

Very very interesting, the points that Aubrey brings up seem very plausible, I mean this guy pretty much targeted human ageing down to just 7 factors

Interesting stuff indeed but let's face it, the guy would carry a bit more credibility if he lost the Rasputin look. I mean really, WTF?

Concerning the comment on his appearance, let's not jump to conclusions. I'm sure in the past people were laughing at Einstein when he was alive based on his appearance.

I am not sure why the people above me are so worried with his appearance. They need to be listening to what he is saying. He is really working on human immortality, and I find it disturbing. ***His name is Aubrey De Grey and he has a Ph.D. in biology from Cambridge, where he works in the genetics department. He claims that within two decades, scientific breakthroughs could begin extending human life spans fast enough and far enough that people alive today could survive indefinitely.
