That's right, the $100 laptop aka OLPC XO shows off its capabilities by running the original Doom game with ease. This notebook features a 500MHz processor, Linux OS, 1GB of memory, and a two-mode display (color + monochrome). Video after the jump. Here's what Brian Lam of Gizmodo has to say:
Cory D. at BoingBoing drops this video of the $100 OLPC running Doom on its reflective dual screen. Ghetto, but man, I remember wishing my old TFT screened laptops would play doom this well

This is pretty amazing considering the cheapness of these laptops. I can imagine all of the third world children being introduced to Doom. Here we go, another round of insatiable gamers.

At first, I thought it was a typo for Doom 3. People have been running Doom 1 for at least a decade. My cell phone can run Doom. The ipod can run Doom. I don't get whats so special.
