Rooms at the Charleston Hotel (Harvard Square) just got upgraded with "Seura Televisions" -- which use a 1920x1080 Sharp display and CableCARD-enabled HDTV tuner. Technology reporter Gabriel Slate gives us a closer look at this technology. Watch after the jump.

This looks like a pretty good idea, can the display be made so it covers the whole of the surface?

Wow that's great! I'll cough 10.000$ just so my small (GLARE!)TV won't be stolen by a burglar. Awesome, because for that amount of money it's not like I could by two or three TV's... a new one each time I get robbed.
...Or pay half for a TV and have some dude mount it in the wall/a closet/the floor etc so my wife won't be upset by the sight of a TV. (noticed the nice white cable box coming from the frame? Very invisible :P)
Better yet that amount of money surely wouldn't buy me a small ('invisible') projector with a screen that works well with daylight either.
Sorry for the rant but in my eyes this 'selling pitch' was just pathetic. I can see it being cool to watch some TV while hanging in and about the bathtroom in the morning. (if you're that addicted to tv that is :) ) But come on, outside the bathroom, there are lots of better and cheaper options that do 'the same' but better and without glare! (read: "Without having to see your own morning grimace while trying to catch a glimpse of Eva Longoria on the TV")

the only thing i can see this being really useful for is to scare the crap out of someone...nothing like a ghost poppin up on the mirror while you brush your teeth
