(Video) Synaptics Onyx Mobile Concept

We covered this phone a while back, but SlashGear managed to get a hands-on look. Just to recap, this phone comes equipped with a touch-sensitive LCD panel instead of a regular keypad, allowing you to answer the handset "by simply holding it to your cheek, messages sent by swiping them off the screen with the whole finger." Videos after the jump. [via Gizmodo]

Looks nice... But the touch screen doesnt look too responsive... And thats really bad for a phone that you gotta use the touch pad for everything...

I'm pretty sure this is a concept, so the touchscreen working that well is a pretty good feat.

Considering that Synaptics is a company that specializes in touch applications and seeing the performance of this prototype, I have to wonder how well the touch-screen iPod will work. Perhaps this is the reason we haven't seen this come out yet.
