VIDEO: Tar Extracted from 400 Cigarettes

This person wants to show you "the process of extracting 7200 mgr tar from 400 cigarettes." The results may or may not surprise you, depending on your tolerance level for the dark heavy viscid substance. Video after the break.

Three things: What's the PC power supply for? Why did he wear gloves to unwrap the cigs but then handled the tar with his bare hands Wouldn't there be a lot of second hand smoke in the room using that apparatus?

It's a PC fan and it's used to create a vacuum to burn the cigarettes faster and more efficiently. The gloves for just for show most likely and it appears as if he is outside just by looking at the lighting.

No the vacuum is created by the purple and grey mini-vac on the left hand side. My only guess is that the PSU is used to run the mini-vac, perhaps it's a car vacuum and runs on 12V?

nope, the PSU is electrical supply for the electrodes - two poles to enable the electrolysis process. I do not know how electrolysis helps extract tar, but i guess it could be chemically proven... any chemo-guys arround to confirm? anyways. awsome video. THe guy should have been more careful when taking off the cigarettes from the tube... the solid parts that might have fallen into the jar might have spoiled the experiment. BUt on the end, we all know how tar really looks like - and what he has in his hands definitively looks like one.
