A group of college students have created a custom version of Super Mario Bros. that is played using VR goggles and special controllers. Unfortunately, no other information has been released -- technical specs, pricing, availability, etc. Video demonstration after the jump.
(Thanks, Brian L)
Wasn't this a skit where an actor pretended to be controlling the action on stage for one of those comedy reviews? I can't find the link now... maybe someone else saw it.

it is pretty unclear that the person is controlling the actions. mario was doing a lot of things in the scene before the person was doing them. maybe just a bad video. but doesn't look realistic.

That really was actually good. I'm stunned. Much better then the other 3d mario attempts

It looks to be using visual tracking: a camera is used to capture movement of the white gloves. In this way gestures are being used to control the game. Other than that the vr visor and head tracker are standard issue.

The movements on screen didn't match the person's. This could have easily been rehearsed.

I'm stunned that they actually thought that was good enough to show off, real or fake. If it was real, then it didn't react very well to the motions, and if it was rehearsed, then they didn't practice very hard.
