First unveiled several years ago, the VirtuSphere has come a long way since the initial concept. The stationary hamster-like ball “was being shown off in conjunction with a first person shooter, which had the player wearing goggles and holding a gun controller,” at GDC 2010. Video after the break.

If you want to try one of these out, you’ll be able to find it in the Excalibur in Las Vegas in about a month, or if you just can’t wait, expect to pony up about $55,000 for one of your own.
