VW EcoRacer Concept

On the outside, VW's EcoRacer concept looks like any other sporty roadster. What makes this car stand out is a 100 k/w turbo diesel engine that pushes it from 0-60 in just 6.3 seconds. Not only does it look cool, this roadster/speedster gets 100mpg and has a top speed of 142mph (235 km/h). The carbon-fiber plastic roof is completely removable, allowing drivers to interchange between speedster and roadster configurations within a matter of minutes. More pics after the jump.

It looks better with the full hard top on it(not pictured here). It looks great and I want one(or two), but I don't think VW will ever produce it.

I love VW. I have never owned one of their cars, but I love that they are using diesel. America needs to catch on to the whole diesel revolution!

Super...Advise me when they will be in production...Also it would be a great idea for VW to go into the production of E85 and build high milage vehicles that operate on same...this way VW will have full control of the auto transport market...
