Madame de Florian, a French socialite and actress, fled to the south of France during World War II in 1942, and kept her apartment in Paris on the Right Bank near the Opera Garnier. She did this as a security measure, just in case she wanted to return. As you probably already guessed, she never returned after the war, and it’s been locked up ever since, untouched.
