When you combine a go-kart with the powerplant of a Honda Civic Type R, the Ariel Atom 4 is the result. Unlike the Ariel Atom 3.5R (video above), it features a turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder engine with a custom Engine Control Unit (ECU), mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, that generates 315 hp, which enables the lightweight vehicle to go from 0-62mph in an eye-watering 2.8 seconds, while topping out at 162mph. “Ariel will assemble about 100 units annually at their factory near Crewkerne, Somerset, alongside the Nomad and Ace motorbike. Each one will be put together by a single technician. Pricing for the overseas market hasn�t been disclosed yet, but in its homeland, the new Ariel Atom 4 starts from £39,975 ($52,995),” reports Car Scoops.
