Perfect Mummy

With the ever growing population in China, it’s no surprise that the government has more than enough road widening projects on-hand to employ all that want to work. However, these road workers from Taizhou, in China’s Jiangsu Province stumbled upon something they never expected when digging: a mysterious box. Nestled 6-feet below the surface, the box they hit was actually a 700-year-old tomb. Continue reading to see what was inside and for more information.

After opening the tomb, they found a brown liquid covering rare fabrics, and under all those layers, was a perfectly preserved woman. As you can see, nearly all the facial features are recognizable, and her jewelry is usually found on high-ranking members of the Ming Dynasty, say archaeologists. According to Chinese officials, she will remain in a preserved state and be viewable at a museum.
