World's Largest CPU Fan

One of the largest CPU fans ever made, Zalman's CNPS9500 LED needs 1400W of power and “starter cartridges” to even start running. This 100% copper fan measures a hefty 85(L) X 112(W) X 125(H)mm and weighs in at 530g. Its compatible with Intel/AMD Processors and Socket 775/578/754/939/940 motherboards. British Aerospace wind tunnel engineers aerodynamically optimized this fan with a “tunnel” design for maximum cooling efficiency. No word yet on pricing or availability. Source: [Zalman via OhGizmo]

A complete waste of power and space, not to mention the excellent spaces for dust build-up. There are better ways to cool a processor...

that's bs i make computers myself and that fan is not biggest cpu fan in the world. i seen custom made computer with foot square heat sink and foot wide cpu fan, and i bet if i try i could make way bigger if i have money and am really bored. 1400w!? what a joke. that fan is less than 15w at full speed.

I have an XClio A380, and it has 2 25cm fans (10 inches each). Each fan in that thing only takes up 3.6W +/-10% depending on fan speed so not only does it have a bigger fan, it has 2 of them and it requires half a dozen watts to run both.
